Investment Analytics | Intern

The Role

CMCC Global is looking for an intern to support the investment team in either Hong Kong or Toronto. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing business while working in an exciting and nascent industry. Digital assets are heralding a new dawn for the finance industry. This role offers a unique front row seat into this emerging crypto economy.

Your responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our existing development team to create internal dashboards and data analytics tools that enhance decision making processes.
  • Analyze and interpret on-chain data using statistical techniques to identify sources of risk and investment opportunities.
  • Participate in the entire software development life cycle, from requirement gathering to design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines to ingest and process quality data for use in production systems.
  • Conduct data analysis and visualization to help the company better understand its operations, performance, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that may arise during the development and deployment of these tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies and apply them to improve our internal tools continually.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of these tools into various business processes.

Your profile

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python and MySQL. Experience with JavaScript and at least one front-end framework (e.g. React, Angular, etc.) is encouraged.
  • Knowledge of data visualization libraries (e.g., matplotlib, seaborn, Plotly) is a plus.
  • Exposure to basic machine learning techniques (e.g. regression, classification, clustering, etc.) and their algorithms is a bonus.
  • You have a strong interest and curiosity in blockchain, crypto and DeFi.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • You are determined, ambitious and with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • You enjoy working in a team environment (in person, rather than fully remote).

CMCC Global launched the Liberty Bitcoin Fund in 2019 and the Titan Fund in 2023, a traditional venture capital fund that invests primarily in Seed and Series A stage equity opportunities of blockchain companies.
